Basic Protocol (with exceptions)

1. Deceased gets picked up by Ansberg-West Funeral Services from hospital or deceased residence and transported to Funeral Home Facility for storage.  This is dependent on time of day and could be transported to Ahlul Bayt Center of Toledo directly for washing and showing and memorial services.
2. Ansberg-West can provide casket to be used at ABCoT. There is a casket at the Center that can be used for the deceased.  There are options to purchase caskets and store at ABCoT or Ansberg-West Funeral Home.  Basic initial charge from Ansberg-West is approximately $1295.00.
3. Ansberg-West is familiar with Muslim after death processes and practices and their director is Bradley Ansberg.  www.ansberg-west.com.  bansberg@ansberg-west.com.  3000 West Sylvania Ave, Toledo, OH  43617.
4. Regarding the washing of the body, Br. Hajj Nashaat (Abu Haytham’s brother).  He is capable and able to arrange for staff to wash men and women and provide all the necessary supplies.  He is out of Dearborn, Michigan.  In case he is not available, there are members of the ABCoT that can do this procedure.  Need to make sure the necessary supplies are available like the shroud.
5. The Washroom (Mogtassal) is ready and functional at the ABCoT.  Refrigerator storage unit is available as well.
6. As far as graves and cemetery, the Toledo Memorial Park Cemetery and Mausoleum accommodates Muslim burials.  The contact number is (419)882-7151. Their email is info@toledomemorialpark.com. Purchasing graves at this point will be taken care of by families.  Families can be guided by ABCoT on where to purchase graves. You can purchase graves directly through the cemetery. 
7. Regarding funeral activities at ABCoT, no cooking will be allowed.  Food can be catered in and there will be a cleaning fee of $250.  
8. Families choose if they want a funeral procession.  Lights and hazards should be on if there is a procession.
9. The Center does not charge for the funeral or memorial services.  Family needs to determine paying the Sheikh/Sayed and the person who washes the body.
10. The Center does not arrange for overseas transport of the deceased (ex: Lebanon, Iraq, etc.).
